Mmachi Obiorah is a PhD student in Computer Science.
As a Design Cluster fellow, her fellowship project has to do with understanding the roles digital technologies can play in supporting and motivating continued therapy for people who have aphasia. She is also interested in understanding how digital technologies can support independent therapy for people with aphasia. Most augmentative and alternative devices for people with aphasia are pre-programmed before use in conversation. Obiorah's project explores designing digital devices for communication that are not pre-programmed for particular conversations, and the use of social computing to improve accuracy.
