DSGN 395: Engineering/Theatre: The Collaboration of Analytics and Aesthetics

Description

Engineering/theatre will be an inaugural inter-school course for McCormick and theatre department students. In furtherance of the One Northwestern Project, this initial course will build “whole-brain” creative engineers and design-oriented theatre students. Both groups benefit from new insights into cognition and creation in the realm of professional soft skills, communication, teamwork, leadership, and design.

The course will have limited enrollment by school. It includes six theatre students and six engineering students working together in collaborative learning teams. They will participate in scene studies, team playwriting, research, performances, and lecture and discussion on topics of science, engineering, and design.
